Product Claims

Are your products hypoallergenic?

Our products do not contain the most common allergens found in other products such as artificial fragrances, colors, dyes, parabens, and synthetic soaping agents. In this way, we have reduced the risk that someone may have an allergic reaction when using our products and therefore may be considered hypoallergenic. There is no regulatory standard for the term “hypoallergenic”, so there is a lot of misleading information in the market about various beauty and household products and their safety for people with allergies. We believe in full disclosure and list all of our ingredients and the attributes of each product.

Do your products contain phosphates?

Our products do not contain phosphates and are also free from parabens, petrochemical by-products, mineral oils, Sodium lauryl sulphate, Sodium laureth sulphate, artificial fragrances and colors.

Are your products anti-bacterial?

We do not use alcohol or synthetic disinfectants, including triclosan in our products as there are negative health consequences with the repeated use of these substances, and they are not necessary for killing bacteria except in a hospital or clinical setting. Studies have determined that proper washing of hands (warm water and soap, rubbing hands together to lather, rinsing and drying) is the most effective way to kill germs without the risks that are associated with anti-bacterial soaps.

Are your products vegan gluten free and cruelty-free?

Yes! None of our Green Cricket products contain animal by-products or gluten, and they are not tested on animals.

Are your products Septic Safe?

Our products are septic-safe and lake-friendly because they are biodegradable and do not contain any ingredients that are harmful to aquatic life and will break down within septic systems without affecting the bacteria that are present in the system.

Product Attributes

Are your products made locally?

Our products are CANADIAN MADE in the Greater Toronto Area, and we source our ingredients from local suppliers as much as possible.

What makes your products sustainable?

All of our products are biodegradable and septic-safe. Because they do not contain petrochemicals or other similar chemical compounds, they are benign formulations that dissipate when put in water.

In addition, all of our products are available in bulk sizes so you can refill your bottle, and reduce the amount of plastic going to landfill.  Better still, we have glass bottles that have a long life and can be used for either our foaming or liquid products.

Are your products safe for children?

Our products are formulated with families in mind – using benign ingredients that will still deliver functionality and a pleasant experience for all.

For Green Cricket SPF30 Sunscreen, parents should consult a physician before using sunscreen on a child under the age of 6 months, and follow the directions carefully to ensure proper protection.

Where can I buy your products?

Our products are sold online as well as through natural health retailers across Canada. You can also buy our products from a nearby refill station to help reduce the consumption of plastic packaging. Find a refill location near you.

Are your products available in different scents?

Yes, in addition to being fragrance-free, we have our amenities in various essential oil blends; lavender, coconut, lavender mint, and citrus and we do add and change scents over time. We are always expanding our line of scents using essential oil blends and natural plant-based materials.

Can we have more than one style of dispenser?

Yes, we have lots and lots of dispensing options – bottles, wall mounted options with different colors, shapes and sizes – that can be mixed and matched to suit your needs!

How long it will take to get the products after placing the order?

We will ship your order within 2 business days of receipt provided that we have stock of that item.  If we are out of stock on any particular item, someone will reach out to you to advise of the delay and ask whether you would like to cancel your order for this missing product or wait until the order can be shipped complete. We do not ship partial shipments.

For Businesses

Do you offer private label programs for your amenities?

Yes, we offer a custom amenity program for clubs, spas, hotels, resorts, and other facilities where we will create a unique design using your logo to create a product line that provides excellent quality to your guests. To learn more about our custom amenity program, click here.

What is the difference between your retail line and your bulk product formulations?

Our retail and bulk product formulations are exactly the same except, for the bulk products we use a trace amount of chemical preservative (phenoxyethanol) to hold the product together for a long period.  The amount of preservative is less than ½ of one percent of the formulation, but it is essential to stop the product from separating or from spoiling if it is stored for a long period of time in a warmer setting. This allows us to prolong the shelf life of the product up to 5 years which is important given that we now sell bulk products in 20L containers. Our retail product uses a plant-based preservative and is effective at holding the product for at least 24 months.

How can your products be dispensed in a commercial setting and who pays for the dispensers?

We offer a wide range of wall mounted, and counter-type dispensing to our clients that are either customizing their own look or using our Green Cricket labelled dispensing systems. Our foaming hand soap systems are offered free of charge if the client agrees to purchase Green Cricket products exclusively for a certain time period, otherwise, a wide variety of dispensing systems and bottles are available for purchase.

We prefer to deal with our regular distributor. Can we buy Green Cricket products through them?

Yes, please let us know how you would like to order, and we would be happy to work through your existing distributor.

How does your custom amenity program work?

We work with you to create a unique design and look of a private label incorporating your logo and design elements so that you can offer top-quality products to your guests and staff a corporate branded line of amenities consistent with your own environment.  We charge a $300 upfront design fee to create your custom-designed labels and dispensers and work with you to roll this out across all of the various products offered and areas of your facility.  We then supply all of the empty bottles or dispensers labelled and ready for filling at the time of the initial order.  After this time, you would pay a nominal fee to replace or order new dispensers.

All of our labels have a reference to the fact that the product is made proudly by the Green Cricket and talk about the important attributes of our product.  We ask that all of our custom amenity clients agree to only use our Green Cricket products in the dispensers provided by us.
